Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an intervention based on conscious family games on increasing family vitality and flexibility. The research method was a quasi-experimental, pre-test, post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this study included all families covered by welfare referring to family counseling centers in Tehran. The sampling method was simple random. 40 people were selected from the statistical population and randomly assigned to two control and experimental groups. The experimental group participated in 10 90-minute sessions of an intervention based on conscious family games. The control group did not receive training. The subjects answered the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire and the Shakeri Family Flexibility Scale (2003) before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using the covariance method. The results showed that an intervention based on conscious family games can increase family vitality and flexibility. According to the findings, it can be concluded that conscious family games, as a low-cost, attractive, and practical solution, have high potential for intervention at preventive and therapeutic levels in vulnerable families.
