The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between perceived social support and quality of life among older adults. The statistical population consisted of 300 older adults affiliated with the Relief Committee of Nur County. Based on the sample size estimated using G*Power software, 200 participants were selected through purposive sampling; however, the final sample was reduced to 195 participants. Data were collected using the standard Perceived Social Support Questionnaire (Cutrona & Russell, 1987), Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (Ryff, 2005), and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (World Health Organization [WHO], 1995). Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings indicated that perceived social support had a significant direct effect on the quality of life of older adults. Moreover, the direct effect of psychological well-being on quality of life was confirmed. In addition, psychological well-being significantly mediated the relationship between perceived social support and quality of life among older adults. These findings suggest that strengthening perceived social support and psychological well-being may contribute to improving quality of life among older adults.
